Hansen Creek is the first canyon on the west side of the lake up lake from
Bull Frog. It is usually very busy so we have not ventured up Hansen Creek
because of that fact. But for Perry, while living in Hanksville, Utah, as
a child, Hansen Creek was the only way into the Colorado River. At that
time, the
lake was being filled while the Bull Frog Marina was being built. Perry worked along side
his father mixing concrete for the boat ramp and building the marina building in
the summer of 1964. We could go down Hansen Creek to the edge of the
rising lake water to fish and swim. The lake level did not reach the
marina boat ramp at Bull Frog until 1965. |
