The trip north from Hite up
Narrow Canyon to Cove Canyon is not longer a reality. The silt ledge is
now at the conjunction of the Dirty Devil and Colorado Rivers at Hite. The
lake water level is from 200' deep to 15' deep at the silt edge. Drift
wood and other obstruction will impede any journey on water. These photos are a
collection from many years ago when the upper end of Lake Powell extended to the
confluence of the river just below Cataract Canyon. This was a favorite place for my father and
I to catch the larger catfish. |
