Back to Wood Working
Perry has designed and built several kitchen cabinet projects
over the years. The fun part is actually the design and cost estimate
phase. Using AutoCAD for the design and a custom cost sheet, his estimates have
been very accurate. The design is the challenging and rewarding phase.

2017 - Kim and Jeff - my daughter and son-in-laws kitchen design and
build |
I'm is in the middle of a kitchen project for Kim and Jeff. We are
targeting mid-March to complete this project. There are eight base
cabinets and eight wall cabinets to build and install. Kim and
Jeff are involved with major work removing non-bearing walls, moving and
installing new plumbing and electrical, redoing sheet rock and taping
ceiling and walls, and new flooring along the finishing touch of new
granite counter tops. |
|
|
October 2017 - The cabinet project is installed and Jeff has finished
the tile work. The flooring is the last phase for the project to
be complete. |
|
|
The kitchen island was the first cabinet Perry built for the kitchen
project. |

2009 - Boise home
kitchen design and rebuild |
Right after I retired from Idaho Power
Company, we remodeled the home in Boise. The redesign of the kitchen was
a major part of the remodel. I took out a wall, extended the bar space
to the living room, and removed the door to the laundry area and move
the entrance to that space with all new appliances. |

2007 -
Placerville cabin kitchen - new construction |
Perry finished the cabin kitchen cabinets in June
of 2007.
They are custom designed and the framing and door material is solid knotty
alder. The cabinet carcass was built with 3/4" two-sided white melamine.
Recessed adjustable shelf brackets holds T-molded melamine for shelving.
The cabinet doors are solid 3/4" x 2 1/2" frames with 1/4" solid alder inserts
and
hidden euphoria hinges. The doors are accented by small horse-shoe nails
face corner pins. The handles and knobs are hammered antique iron. |

1980's -
Pocatello Kitchen Rebuild Projects |
While living in Pocatello in the 70' and 80's, I rebuilt
the kitchen in both homes I once owned.
|
|
The home on Meadowbrook in Pocatello, I
remolded more than just the kitchen. The original home was 1200
square feet before I used a bob-cat and dug under the house to create a
basement. I added another 1200 square feet to include a 16' x 24'
extension off the kitchen for a family room. Down stairs under the
new addition, I added a wood burning fire place that heated the house in
the winter by pulling heat from the fire place through the furnaces vent
system. |
